Greece, in white and blue

Greece, in white and blue

Why Greece

I work with Greece because philoxenia — the love of strangers — is a real, daily thing in this country, not folklore. Our gay clients have always been welcomed warmly across the islands and in Athens: at the taverna where the owner brings extra plates, in the small island hotel where check-in feels like dinner with cousins, on the boat where the captain knows which beach is empty that afternoon. Mykonos has been a beloved gay destination for fifty years and remains the heart of the summer scene; Athens has a sharper, year-round cultural pulse; the smaller Cyclades — Folegandros, Naxos, Milos, Sifnos — give our clients the Greece they actually want, slow and uncrowded. The Greece I design balances a few days in Athens, a quiet island, and one of the icons — paced for honeymoon or for two friends with time. Here is my full, honest answer to is Greece gay friendly?

The trip in a nutshell

Start in Athens, where ancient stone and modern neighbourhoods live side by side, then slip into the Cyclades the way it should feel: easy, sunlit, and beautifully paced. Santorini brings the drama—caldera views, volcanic wines, and a day on the water. Naxos is the soul of the trip: villages, local flavours, and the kind of Greece you taste slowly. Mykonos closes it all with style—white lanes, golden sunsets, and nights you can make as calm or as lively as you want.

Who this is for

This is for travellers who want Greece at its best: the right places to stay, a natural pace, and experiences that feel real—not rushed. It’s ideal if you’re drawn to island-hopping done well, to sea-and-taverna Greece, and to that bright Aegean rhythm that makes days feel longer in the best way.

Think: slow mornings in Athens, caldera afternoons on Santorini, village flavours on Naxos, and golden evenings in Mykonos. If you want to shorten the trip, extend it, swap an island, focus more on the sea (or more on culture), we’ll build the version of Greece that fits you perfectly.

Athens for the layers. Santorini for the drama. Naxos for the soul. Mykonos for the glow.

Route map — Greece: Athens, Santorini, Naxos & Mykonos
DAY 1 — Athens | First light, Acropolis view

Athens welcomes you with contrasts done beautifully—ancient stone and modern streets, warm air and sharp light, a city that feels lived-in from the first step. You settle into a handpicked central stay, then step out for an easy first walk that ends exactly where it should: a first glimpse of the Acropolis rising above the city, glowing in the late light. Tonight is a relaxed welcome dinner in a place we love—warm, classic, unmistakably Greek—followed by a slow stroll back, with the Parthenon watching from above.

DAY 2 — Athens | The city, at street level

Today is about Athens’ rhythm—the city you feel as much as you see. You move through local streets and small tastes, with time to pause whenever something pulls you in: an espresso, a market moment, a terrace that turns into “just one more”. The afternoon is yours—shop, wander, or slow down—before dinner, shaped around the mood you’re chasing (buzzy and social, or quietly refined).

DAY 3 — Athens | Ancient power, living city

A day of big icons, done with the right pace. With an expert guide, you step into the Acropolis and its world of lines, light, and stories—grand, human, and still astonishing up close. Later, you return to the city and let it unfold on your terms: a museum, a rooftop drink, or simply the pleasure of walking with no plan and perfect timing.

DAY 4 — Santorini | Caldera drama, effortless arrival

You fly to Santorini and the island does what it does best: theatre. White walls, blue depth, cliffs that feel unreal, and that caldera view that stops you mid-sentence. You check into a beautiful stay and take the rest of the day slowly—sunset from the right spot, a dinner with volcanic flavours, and the feeling that time has stretched.

DAY 5 — Santorini | A day on the water

Santorini from the sea is a different kind of magic. You sail through the caldera, stop to swim, soak up the hot springs, and let the day move at water-speed. There’s an easy onboard meal, music if you want it, silence if you don’t—and then the sunset, which somehow still feels like a private moment even when everyone is watching.

DAY 6 — Naxos | The Cyclades, with soul

You ferry to Naxos and the mood shifts—in the best way. Less postcard, more real: green edges, villages in the hills, local life that isn’t staged. You head inland for a day of temples, quiet roads, and a long lunch where the ingredients taste like the island itself. By evening, you’re back by the water—calm, grounded, and completely in it.

DAY 7 — Naxos | Cook like a local

Today is hands-on, warm, and delicious. In a village house you cook with local products—simple recipes, big flavour, and the kind of generosity that makes you feel like you belong at the table. The rest of the day is yours to spend exactly how you want: beach time, a slow wander, or a sunset drink that turns into a longer night than planned.

DAY 8 — Mykonos | White lanes, golden glow

You arrive in Mykonos and everything gets a little brighter—white alleys, bougainvillea, the sea catching the light, the island’s particular sense of style. You settle in, then drift through Little Venice and the windmills with no rush at all. Tonight is your choice: chic and easy, or full Mykonos—cocktails, music, and that feeling that the night could go anywhere.

DAY 9 — Mykonos | Sail trip to Delos & farewell dinner

Ancient treasures on a UNESCO site, with the Aegean all around you. You set sail to Delos and walk through a world of myths, mosaics and ruins—quiet, sunlit, and powerful in a way that stays with you. Back in Mykonos, the afternoon is yours for one last swim or a final wander through the white lanes, before a farewell dinner we’ll make worth remembering: great food, good wine, and that shared glow that only happens at the end of a beautiful trip.

DAY 10 — Departure | Mykonos to Athens, then home

A calm start, a good breakfast, and everything handled smoothly. You travel back to Athens and connect to your flight home—no stress, no last-minute logistics—just that lingering feeling of blue light, warm evenings, and Greece done exactly right.
