Sicily: the island everyone falls for
Why Sicily
I work with Sicily because it’s one of the regions our clients return from most enchanted. The welcome here is unusually warm — Sicilian hospitality is real, not performance, and our gay clients have always felt it immediately: in the small restaurants of Palermo, the cafés in Ortigia, the hotels in Taormina where the staff still remembers your name on day two. What Sicily does best, though, is the things you can’t put in a brochure — Greek temples at sunrise without queues, Etna at the right hour, baroque towns where the same family has run the kitchen for three generations. The Sicily I design for our clients is curated to feel premium and unrushed, not packaged .

This is for gay men who want Sicily to feel premium and effortless—beautiful stays, the right rhythm, and the freedom to be yourselves from start to finish. If you’re travelling solo, as a couple, or with friends, and you care about comfort, authenticity, and smart pacing (not rushing from sight to sight), this is built for you.
And if you’re weighing whether Sicily is the right call for the two of you, I’ve written the honest version: is Sicily safe for gay travelers?
It’s ideal if you want a trip that balances iconic Sicily—temples, baroque cities, volcanic scenery—with breathing room for long lunches, beach time, wine moments, and evenings that feel relaxed and stylish. We tailor the route and the tone around you: more coast or more culture, a slower pace or a fuller itinerary, boutique charm or iconic upgrades. Sicily is intense—in the best way—and we shape it so it feels smooth.
Sample itinerary
This is a suggested flow across Sicily—designed to feel effortless and beautifully paced. We tailor hotels, transfers, guides and experiences around you, so nothing is “fixed” until it fits your style. Want more sea time, more wine and food, or a slower rhythm in the towns you love most? We’ll shape the itinerary around your taste.

DAY 1 — Catania, a warm Sicilian welcome
Catania welcomes you with black lava stone, baroque façades, and that unmistakable Sicilian energy—sea nearby, Etna always in the background. You settle into a handpicked central stay and step out for an easy first walk to feel the rhythm of the city. In the evening, ease into the journey with a relaxed welcome dinner in a place we love: warm, vibrant, and unmistakably Sicilian.
DAY 2 — Taormina and Mount Etna
Etna sets the tone early—vast lava landscapes, ancient craters, and views that make the island feel larger than life. You explore the volcano’s most striking scenery at a comfortable pace, with time to pause for a tasting of local products shaped by this soil and this sun.
Later, Taormina feels like a scene change: elegant streets, postcard viewpoints, and the iconic Greco-Roman theatre opening onto sea and sky. Wander through the old town, linger in the main piazza, and end with a simple pleasure—gelato in hand, the bay below, and the day unfolding beautifully on its own.
DAY 3 — Syracuse, Ortigia, and baroque Noto
Syracuse begins with one of Sicily’s great classics: the Neapolis Archaeological Park, where the Greek Theatre and the Ear of Dionysius bring the ancient world back into focus. Then cross into Ortigia—the city’s oldest heart—walking from temple ruins to bright cathedral stone, fountains, and the waterfront that always seems to pull you closer.
In the afternoon, Noto is pure baroque glow: honey-coloured façades, grand balconies, and streets that feel designed for slow wandering at golden hour. Later, you settle into Ragusa for the night.
DAY 4 — Ragusa Ibla and Modica
Ragusa Ibla rises beautifully from the valley—quiet lanes, viewpoints, and baroque elegance that rewards anyone who likes to explore on foot. Then Modica: steps, alleys, and sudden views, with a sweetness at the centre of it all. Taste its famous chocolate made the traditional way, then keep wandering—because this town is best discovered one staircase at a time.
DAY 5 — Piazza Armerina, Agrigento, and Palermo
Start with a Roman masterpiece: Villa Romana del Casale, where mosaics spill across the floors in astonishing detail—one of those places that quietly exceeds expectations. Then it’s on to Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples: wide-open space, monumental ruins, and that cinematic feeling of history under the sun. By evening, Palermo welcomes you with its layered energy and a completely different rhythm.
DAY 6 — Palermo and Mondello
Palermo is a city of contrasts—churches and palaces, markets and courtyards, Arab-Norman layers that make every street feel like a story. Wander through the historic centre and its iconic markets, where voices, colour and scent do half the narration for you.
Later, shift into coastal ease in Mondello: pale sand, clear water, and elegant Liberty-style villas that make the seaside feel effortlessly chic. Back in Palermo, the evening is yours—food, nightlife, and the city’s glow after dark.
DAY 7 — Palermo, deeper cuts
Palermo deserves an extra day—and today is about the city’s most fascinating layers. Start with the Palatine Chapel and the Norman Palace, where gold mosaics and Arab-Norman geometry feel almost unreal. Then step into the cathedral and the historic streets nearby, pausing for coffee and small bites as you go.
Later, shift to Palermo’s more intimate side: the Capuchin Catacombs for something hauntingly memorable, or a calmer alternative like the Botanical Garden if you prefer light and greenery. In the afternoon, choose your Palermo: a street-food tasting through the old town, or a slow visit to Teatro Massimo and the elegant neighbourhoods around it.
As the day softens, head to Monte Pellegrino for a panoramic view over the bay—Palermo below, the sea turning silver—then close with dinner in a place we love, where Sicilian flavours feel bold, simple, and completely right.
DAY 8 — Erice and Trapani
Erice feels like another Sicily: medieval stone, cobbled lanes, and views that stretch from hilltop to sea. Explore it slowly—quiet corners, ancient walls, and a sense of cool air even in warmer months.
Then Trapani brings you back to the coast, with baroque details and a lived-in historic centre that’s perfect for a late-afternoon wander. In the evening, return to Palermo for a dinner that feels like a celebration of everything you’ve seen so far.
DAY 9 — Monreale, Cefalù, and back to Catania
Monreale is a moment of pure wonder: the cathedral’s golden Byzantine mosaics shimmer in the light, intricate and overwhelming in the best way. Then head to Cefalù, where medieval streets meet a crystal sea—an easy, beautiful place to slow down before the journey loops back.
By evening, you return to Catania for a farewell dinner—one last toast to Sicily, and that feeling of not wanting it to end yet.
DAY 10 — Departure (or extend the magic)
Your final morning begins at an easy pace—farewell breakfast, a last look at the light, nothing rushed. A smooth transfer takes you to the airport or station for your journey onward. Not ready to leave the Mediterranean? We can add an extra chapter—an extension tailored to your pace, whether that means more sea time, another island, or a slower finale somewhere you’ll love.
