A Spanish Reverie

Why Spain

In May 2026, Spain became the highest-ranked country in Europe on the ILGA-Europe Rainbow Map for LGBTQI+ rights — overtaking Malta after ten years at the top. That’s not why we love working here, but it tells you what kind of country welcomes you when you land. Spain is one of the most relaxed places in Europe to travel as a gay couple: Madrid’s Chueca, Barcelona’s Eixample, the Andalusian whitewashed towns, Seville at flamenco hour. Our clients come back surprised by Spain’s variety — coast, sherry country, Moorish architecture, modern Basque kitchens. The Spain I design weaves a capital city, an Andalusian week, and a small luxury hotel the family has run for generations. Premium, lived-in, and very easy.

The trip in a nutshell

Spain is a feast of layers: bold cities, Moorish geometry, late-night energy, golden light, and a food culture that turns every stop into a moment. You begin in Madrid—grand, lively, and effortlessly social—then head south into Andalusia, where Islamic heritage and Spanish tradition meet in a mix that feels both elegant and alive.

Think Seville’s cathedral and courtyards, Málaga’s sea-air and seafood, Córdoba’s Mezquita at the right hour, and Granada’s Alhambra—one of those places that stays in your mind long after you’ve left.

Madrid for the buzz. Seville for the romance. Ronda for the drama. Málaga for the coast. Granada for the awe. Córdoba for the quiet beauty.

Who this is for

This is for travellers who want Spain with both depth and ease: the big icons done properly, but with enough breathing room to enjoy the rhythm—late dinners, slow mornings, long walks, and the occasional “let’s stay a little longer”. It’s ideal if you love art and history, but you’re not interested in racing from sight to sight; if you care about food, but you want it to feel local, not curated-for-tourists.

It’s also perfect if you want variety in one trip: a capital city that never really switches off, then Andalusia’s softer pace—patios and plazas, dramatic viewpoints, and a few coastal moments when you just want sun and sea. We can adjust the balance easily: more guided culture, more free time, more culinary, more beach, more nightlife—or a quieter, more boutique version of the same route.

Sample itinerary

This is a suggested flow from Madrid through Andalusia—designed to feel effortless and beautifully paced. We tailor hotels, transfers, guides and experiences around you, so nothing is “fixed” until it fits your style. Want more time in Seville, a slower coastal stretch, or an extra night in Granada? We’ll shape the itinerary around your taste.

Madrid greets you with instant energy—grand façades, lively streets, and that feeling that the city is already in motion. You settle into a handpicked central hotel, then step out for an easy first walk that ends where Madrid shines: the openness of Plaza Mayor, the hum of the old town, the first taste of Spain at street level. Dinner tonight is simple and delicious—your first proper table in Madrid.

Today is Madrid’s essential sequence, done with the right rhythm: Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, Puerta de Alcalá, and the Royal Palace—icons that land better when you’re not rushing. Lunch is exactly what it should be in Spain: unhurried, full of flavour. The afternoon is yours—rest, shop, or choose a museum moment (the Prado is there if you want art).

The morning continues with another side of Madrid—more local, more everyday—then it’s time to change scene. You board a high-speed train to Seville; in just over two hours the light feels warmer, the streets feel slower, and Andalusia begins.

Seville is a city made for walking: orange-scented courtyards, cool shade, and details everywhere you look. You visit the great symbols—its immense Cathedral with the Giralda tower, the Real Alcázar, and Plaza de España—at a pace that lets the beauty sink in. Tonight is pure Seville: a wonderful dinner, then a flamenco show at Tablao El Arenal—raw, elegant, unforgettable.

Today you slip into Seville’s most atmospheric quarter: Santa Cruz, a labyrinth of narrow lanes, small squares, and white walls dressed in flowers. It’s the kind of place where you slow down without trying—because every turn is a frame. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the city the way you like it, with tapas whenever the mood strikes.

On the way to the coast, you stop in one of Spain’s most dramatic towns: Ronda, perched over a deep gorge with the Puente Nuevo cutting across like a scene from a film. You explore the historic centre and take in the views that make people fall silent for a second. Then you continue to Málaga, where the air turns salty and the trip naturally softens into coastal ease.

Málaga is sunlit, cultured, and wonderfully relaxed. You visit its Cathedral, then step into Picasso’s world at the Picasso Museum, set inside a beautiful historic palace. Lunch is seafood, done properly. The afternoon is open: a stroll along the beach, a drink by the waterfront, or simply time to do nothing at all.

You drive up to Granada and enter a different kind of Spain—more poetic, more Moorish, more intense. The Alhambra is the centrepiece: intricate details, quiet courtyards, gardens and fountains, all layered with history. After dinner, if you feel like it, Granada has a lively LGBTQ+ scene—easy places for a late drink when the day’s beauty still feels close.

Granada isn’t only the Alhambra. Today you explore the Albaicín, the historic Arab quarter—whitewashed streets, hidden corners, and viewpoints that frame the fortress from across the hill. Then you travel on to Córdoba, check into a beautiful central hotel, and enjoy a relaxed dinner to close the day.

Córdoba is smaller, quieter, and full of character. The Mezquita—Mosque-Cathedral—is one of Europe’s great “wow” interiors: arches, light, and centuries layered in stone. Later, you wander the old town, discover patios and narrow streets, and catch the Roman bridge at sunset. Tonight is your farewell dinner—warm, celebratory, and exactly the right ending.

Today you take the high-speed train back to Madrid for your onward connection home. Everything is designed to be seamless—no stress, no last-minute logistics—just a calm finish to a trip that delivers Spain with the right pace and the right glow. If you’re not ready to stop, we can extend the journey into Portugal—Lisbon, Porto, or a few days along the coast—shaped to your style.
